Registration Update (9/19/20)

Registration is closed for all divisions for the AYSO CORE Fall 2020 – Spring 2021 season. The exceptions are the U5/Jamboree division which is open year round and the U12 Girls, U14 Girls and U14 Boys divisions which can accommodate additional players. Currently our Very Important Player (VIP/Special Needs) program is on pause for Fall 2020.

The waitlist is open for all other divisions (U6 Coed, U7 Coed, U8 Coed, U10 Girls/Boys, U12 Boys). The waitlist is on a first come, first served basis and activation is dependent on space availability. To sign up for the waitlist, please go to the region-specific Blue Sombrero site (

For our older players (U10 & above), Croton AYSO follows the US Soccer Federation’s guidelines where players are placed in divisions based on DOB. To better align skill levels for our younger players (U6, U7, U8),  we have divisions based on grade levels.  Division breakdown is as follows:

U5 Jamboree – Coed/Born 2016 or late 2015 (parent participation)

U6/Kindergarten – Coed/Born 2015 or late 2014 (not drop-off/parent stays near field)

U7/1st Grade – Coed/Born 2014 or late 2013

U8/2nd Grade – Coed/Born 2013 or late 2012

U10 – Girls & Boys/Born 2011 or 2012

U12 – Girls & Boys/Born 2009 or 2010

U14 – Girls & Boys/Born 2007 or 2008

Q) I want to sign my kid up for the Fall season only. Can I get a prorated registration fee?

No. Registration is for the full year which is broken up into the Fall ’20 and Spring ’21 seasons. Fees are not refundable and not prorated if the player opts to not return for the spring season.

Q) When I go to register, I have the option to choose between two grades (e.g. U7/1st Grade or U8 2nd Grade). Which should I choose?

Choose the grade level that your child will be in the 2020/2021 school year.

Q) Do I have to show you my child’s birth certificate?

No. Birth documentation is only required of new players in the club soccer division (Croton United).

Q) I want to withdraw my child from play in the middle of the season. Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately no. Croton AYSO fee refunds are only given if the registration is cancelled prior to the first fall practice. All national fees ($20) & Sports Connect transaction fees ($2.75) are non-refundable. If Croton AYSO suspends play entirely because of Covid-19 concerns, the board will evaluate the possibility of a partial refund after the conclusion of the spring ’21 season.

Q) It’s September 14th or later and I forgot to register my child – will you take late registrants?

Depending on the division, we may be able to place a late registrant. The first step is to register for the waitlist ( Activation off of the waitlist is on a first come, first served basis. If your child is placed on the waitlist, we will notify you of space availability and potential placement as soon as possible but likely after the season has started.

Q) What time are practices and where will my child practice?

Team placement, practice time slots and locations will be released shortly. The time slots/locations are generally grouped according to age division and take into account coaches’ schedule and field avails.
