Registration Update (4/14/21)

Please note – Sports Connect, our online registration platform ( is currently going through a system-wide upgrade. During the upgrade, all programs must be closed so no new players will be able to register for division enrollment or waitlist (U6-U14) or U5 (which is usually rolling admissions). We expect the upgrade to be completed mid-May and will update all as soon as completed.  The upgrade does not impact players currently registered for the ’20/’21 academic year (Fall 2020-Spring 2021).

A reminder for general registration protocol when the system upgrade is completed:

Registration for Croton AYSO covers the ’20/’21 academic year (Fall 2020 & Spring 2021 seasons). All players who played last fall are automatically registered for the spring ’21 season and will return to their same teams.

Registration for the Under 5/Jamboree division is open year round and we’re happy to welcome new players this spring as long as on-field numbers allow for safe social distancing

Currently our Very Important Player (VIP/Special Needs) program is on pause for Spring 2021.

Outside of system upgrade windows, we do maintain a waitlist for all divisions. All players who were on the waitlist prior to 4/1/21 have been placed. When the system opens back up, we will start accepting waitlist registrations with activation off the waitlist on a first come, first served basis.

For our older players (U10 & above), Croton AYSO follows the US Soccer Federation’s guidelines where players are placed in divisions based on DOB. To better align skill levels for our younger players (U6, U7, U8),  we have divisions based on grade levels.  Division breakdown is as follows:

U5 Jamboree – Coed/Born early 2017, 2016 or late 2015 (parent participation required)

U6/Kindergarten – Coed/Born 2015 or late 2014 (not drop-off/parent stays near field)

U7/1st Grade – Coed/Born 2014 or late 2013

U8/2nd Grade – Coed/Born 2013 or late 2012

U10 – Girls & Boys/Born 2011 or 2012

U12 – Girls & Boys/Born 2009 or 2010

U14 – Girls & Boys/Born 2007 or 2008

Q) I want to sign my kid up for the Fall season only. Can I get a prorated registration fee?

No. Registration is for the full year which is broken up into the Fall ’20 and Spring ’21 seasons. Fees are not refundable and not prorated if the player opts to not return for the spring season. Fees are also the same if the player signed up only for the spring/did not play in the fall.

Q) When I go to register, I have the option to choose between two grades (e.g. U7/1st Grade or U8 2nd Grade). Which should I choose?

Choose the grade level that your child will be in the 2020/2021 school year.

Q) Do I have to show you my child’s birth certificate?

No. Birth documentation is only required of new players in the club soccer division (Croton United).

Q) I want to withdraw my child from play in the middle of the season. Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately no. Croton AYSO fee refunds are only given if the registration is cancelled prior to the first fall practice. All national fees ($20) & Sports Connect transaction fees ($2.75) are non-refundable. If Croton AYSO suspends play entirely because of Covid-19 concerns, the board will evaluate the possibility of a partial refund after the conclusion of the spring ’21 season.

Q) It’s September 14th or later and I forgot to register my child – will you take late registrants?

Depending on the division, we may be able to place a late registrant. The first step is to register for the waitlist ( Activation off of the waitlist is on a first come, first served basis. If your child is placed on the waitlist, we will notify you of space availability and potential placement as soon as possible but likely after the season has started.

Q) What time are practices and where will my child practice?

Team placement, practice time slots and locations will be released shortly. The time slots/locations are generally grouped according to age division and take into account coaches’ schedule and field avails.
