Registration is now closed for all divisions for the AYSO CORE Fall 2019 – Spring 2020 season. The exceptions are the U5/Jamboree and Very Important Player (VIP/Special Needs) programs which are open year round.

The waitlist for the U6-U14 divisions is open for any players who would like to play but did not register. The waitlist is on a first come, first served basis and activation off the waitlist is dependent on space availability. To sign up for the waitlist, please go to the region-specific Blue Sombrero site (

For our older players (U10 & above), Croton AYSO follows the US Soccer Federation’s guidelines where players are placed in divisions based on DOB. To better align skill levels for our younger players,  we are introducing new divisions based on grade levels. We are also testing a U19 division which will be fielded pending enough interest. Division breakdown is as follows:

VIP – Very Important Players program for children with special needs (Coed, all ages)

U5 Jamboree – Coed/Born 2015 (parent participation)

U6/Kindergarten – Coed/Born 2014 or late 2013 (not drop-off/parent stays near field)

U7/1st Grade – Coed/Born 2013 or late 2012

U8/2nd Grade – Coed/Born 2012 or late 2011

U10 – Girls & Boys/Born 2010 or 2011

U12 – Girls & Boys/Born 2008 or 2009

U14 – Girls & Boys/Born 2006 or 2007

U19 – Coed/Born 2005-2001 (Pending Interest)

Q) I want to sign my kid up for the Fall season only. Can I get a prorated registration fee?

Registration is for the full year which is broken up into the Fall ’19 and Spring ’20 seasons. Fees are not refundable and not prorated if the player opts to not return for the spring season.

Q) When I go to register, I have the option to choose between two grades (e.g. U7/1st Grade or U8 2nd Grade). Which should I choose?

Choose the grade level that your child will be in the 2019/2020 school year.

Q) Do I have to show you my child’s birth certificate?

No. Birth documentation is only required of new players in the club soccer division (Croton United).

Q) Wait, I think I’m actually interested in the club soccer program (Croton FC). Can I register my child for that program?

Unfortunately no – selection to Croton FC is based on tryouts which were held last May. Team rosters have already been set for the ’19/’20 school year. Tryouts are held every spring so if you’re still interested in playing club, please try out next year.

Q) It’s August 24th or later and I forgot to register my child – will you take late registrants?

All players who register after 8/23 are not guaranteed a spot and instead will be put on a waitlist. Activation off of the waitlist is subject to team availability and on a first come, first served basis. If your child is placed on the waitlist, we will notify you of potential placement after the Fall season has started.

Q) What time are practices and where will my child practice?

Team placement, practice time slots and locations will not be determined until closer to the start of the season. The time slots/locations are generally grouped according to age division and take into account coaches’ schedule and field avails. The spring 2019 can give you a general sense but please keep in mind this is all subject to change based on the number of teams and field availability.
